What if you want to update a user policy for a user but you don’t want to bother this person with your phonecall and ask him to login again. You can update this person’s group policy by using a PowerShell command.

Invoke-GPUpdate -Computer "LAB\CTXVDI001" -Target "User" -RandomDelayInMinutes 0

The Computer parameter specifies the target of the remote computer.

The Target parameter specifies if you want to update the Computer or the user policy.

Setting RandomDelayInMinutes to 0, updates the group policy as soon as possible. This might speed up things a bit! 🙂

Good luck updating policies!
